Rain 1; Suede 0

The initial intention for the day was to head over to check out Granville Island but when we walked out the front door and were confronted with some classic local weather we were forced to make a detour past some shops to try find umbrellas and some new shoes for me! Apparently water beats suede based on the first few steps of the morning.
Speedy Driver-less Train
The hunt for the shoes became an all-day adventure as we looked for the best area to purchase such a thing. Robson St was filled with the designer style shops and the bimbo chicks from footlocker trying to sell their gear which was not what we were after! After locating the nearest café for a bit of warmth and wifi we headed across to South Granville to the recently discovered adventure store part of town. The street was literally lined both sides with various adventure stores which were a larger version of Anaconda style stores from home with much, much more including the ever more popular rock climbing =)

While we were in one of the stores, one of the friendly locals gave us a tip-off of some sweet deals at a turkey sale close by. There are stores which seem to be specifically setup to sell second hand adventure gear and it’s all dirt cheap; so we will definitely be heading back in that direction to make our purchases in the next week or so!
Sneaky Lunch Break
Still without luck finding the revised goal for the day, we continued to roam the streets looking for the elusive pair of shoes. When all luck seemed to have run out, we approached one of the areas of town previously missed in our travels which turned out to be a shoes and clothes gold mine! With no time to waste, we made a swift purchase and headed back home to prepare for the following day trip across to Victoria.
